America Against Japan
At the end of World War II, allegedly, all problems were not resolved. During this time, President Truman had approved the bombing of Japan, which is something he had knew nothing about until he became president. On August 6, 1945, the two lethal bombs were dropped. One was on Hiroshima and the other one was on Nagasaki. When this became public, Truman stated that he used the bombs to save any American casualties if they were to invade instead of dropping the bombs. Truman was determined to end the war, and he even threatened to continued destruction on Japan. In a radio report, Truman said, "only a Japanese surrender will stop us" (Truman). To avoid further damage, Japan agreed to surrender. This meant that the war was coming to an end and that Truman had followed through with his plan.
